Is India's unity being undermined by its diversity ?

India is a country of 1.2 million population in it.   It is the place where 4 major religions in the world took birth-Hinduism, Jainism, Buddism and sikkhism.  Rather than these india also facilitated the ancient Islamism and Christianity.  Not only in religions but in every string we can find the diversity even in yoga, fine arts, cuisines etc.  There by we say india is a multilingual, multireligious and pluralistic society.  Even with So many diverisities in our country we are rather at a glee to declare india as an Incredible for its Unity Still!

Its, however, a pity that from past few years the communal clashes and terrorism are paving their own way cutting between us.  These all us indicate that people are forgetting our country’s true ancient culture.  India never had a war with any country on its own uninvited.   Religions has been a great dividing force presently.  2002 riots and 1992 babri riots are the ardent examples of growing communal riots in the country.   Even Still there is the clash in between muslims and hindu’s whether to pass the cow-protection bill or not.  During 1966, there held a agitation on how one can kill the being which is as sacred as mother for hindu’s.  At the time of Prime minister Indira Gandhi Didn’t accept the demand for ban on the cow slaughtering as in a fear of drastic fall of muslim votes.  The police then fired on peaceful rally killing many sandhu’s.  So from the above incident one can get a clear perception of the main cause of the communal riots.  A deeper analysis of the factors of these conflicts show that in all these situations non religions, often political and economic interests were instrumental to these problems.  Only the religious identitiy was used as mask to cover up and to satisfy the evil deeds.  Especially in our country the governments are playing hide and seek with the people of different communities to come into power.  Press which is considered as the fourth pillar in our constitution  and most part of the media is just acting as maiden servant under the hands of the politicians by making all facts blurry.  Regionalism also raises its ugly head at times and divides the interest against people of other region.

"The world is my country.
All mankind are my brethren

And to do good is my religion." - M.K.Gandhi

The Gandhi philosophy is again in a need to re-educate the people of India.   The task of curing india of all these differences is not so difficult and only the enlightenment is only the tool to be used.  These differences in region, religion, caste can get inhibited by intimating the people that the whole world got itself divided into haves and have-nots and nothing else.  So all these differences were just like mirages created by influential ones to just satisfy their interests.  For prevention of all these communal clashes require alertness and immediate and immediate response from law and order administration.  Even the press also should act as non-partial element to curb all the differences between the people.  Every citizen of a country should keep an eye on the government and government servants.  Everyone should get updated of newly passed bills, amendments and acts.  The Right to Information Act should be properly utilized by all the citizens so that it acts as an antidote to fresh illegal affairs that would create the disturbances in the society.  Over a huge population of 450 million youth are there in our country, they all should be guided to work for a noble cause under the suggestions & leadership of successful one’s  like A.P.J.Abdul Kalam and many more such people.  I conclude saying that hope if above all the things were implemented it  enhances our country’s strength in all the directions of the world.

It is, however, a pity that in recent years the communal clashes, the increasing evidence of intolerance and disharmony, apparently endless discord, the open clashes at public meetings, and the all too frequent denunciation of each other have increased so much as it indicate that the people are forgetting their true culture, and are allowing themselves to exploited by selfish, uncultured people who seek to disrupt and destroy rather than build and consolidate.
